Now that that’s over with, I strongly suggest reading Frans de Waal’s piece for the New York Times, Morals Without God? It’s a characteristically measured, humane and absolutely brilliant take on why we don’t need religion to give us morality, and a good antidote to all the infuriating crap that’s been written about the Marc Hauser folderol recently.
